More details regarding venues around downtown Boise that this year's festival will be taking place in will be revealed soon. Treefort 2012 was held at an outdoor Main Stage on the Owyhee Plaza overflow parking lot at 12th and Grove St in downtown Boise, our other stages were at Neurolux, The Red Room, Linen Building, Reef, The Crux, Owyhee Plaza and Pengilly's. Treefort Music Fest is a representation of Boise and it's scene and culture, but for reference, it has also been inspired by festivals like SXSW (Austin), MFNW (Portland), The UMS (Denver), CMJ (NYC), MPMF (Cincinnati), Troika (Durham, NC) and many others. Conceived as an extension of the current momentum in the Boise music scene and art scene at large, our vision is that Treefort will provide the opportunity for Boise to play host to the national and regional music scenes while showcasing a lot of our own up-and-coming talent as well. We see Treefort as another stepping stone for our young scene -- to further introduce emerging national, regional and local artists to the music fans in the Treasure Valley so that future tour stops by those bands will be greeted with more and more familiar faces and encourage more artists to consider Boise a relevant stop on their tours.
