Matt and Grace Gambrell have played music together since 1999. The addition of Carl Boockholdt on percussion and harmonica along with Matt's blues, folk and roots guitar and vocals have rounded out the sound listeners will hear at a Matthew James Trio performance. For now the trio is singing covers by Amos Lee, Shawn Mullins, Jon Forman, Death Cab for Cutie, Need to Breath, Marc Ford, Brett Dennen and many others. The goal of this project is to begin writing original tunes and pepper them through out a set of familiar song that a crowd may enjoy.
